MG Motor's Win the Keys competition ran across the 2026 NRL season with South Sydney: ten keys handed out to fans over the year, ten finalists, and one of them driving home an MG HS Hybrid+. The draw for the winning key landed at half-time of the Rabbitohs vs Roosters, Round 27, Friday 4 September 2026, at Allianz Stadium, in front of a crowd of 41,000-plus.

That's the part sponsors don't always get to see. A ribbon board can be built perfectly and still be a question mark until it's actually running in the stadium, lit up, timed to the moment, visible to the crowd and the cameras. I was on the ground for this one specifically to answer that question with photos, not a promise.

What the brief actually was

Get in position before half-time, and come away with proof the Win the Keys board ran cleanly around the perimeter through the reveal: the car itself on the field, the moment the winner's key turned out to be the right one, and the crowd's reaction as it landed. The LED signage was one part of a bigger live activation that also had to work around the pyro, the on-field build and the stadium lighting, so timing mattered as much as framing.

Why proof-of-play matters here

A stadium LED buy is a lot of moving parts on the night: the venue's system, the broadcast schedule, the in-stadium host, and whatever else is happening at half-time. Photographing it live, rather than relying on a render or a single grab from the broadcast feed, is what lets a sponsor actually show their activation ran, in the room it was built for, with the reaction it was built to get.

Where I've delivered this

This sits alongside the LED ribbon-board work I've done for Mitronics and Strata Republic at Allianz Stadium. If you've got signage running at a stadium or major venue and want it documented properly on the day, tell me the venue and the fixture and I'll get back to you.
