Working With Your In-House Marketing Team on Site Progress Shoots
Most ongoing site progress work already has a marketing team in the loop. Here is how I fit that workflow instead of fighting it.
In-house marketing teams do not need another supplier who only speaks in moodboards. On ongoing site progress work they need a clear workflow. The services FAQ version is the same one I use on real jobs: I can shoot to a brief your team provides, deliver raw and edited files for your editors, or handle the whole thing end to end.
Shoot to your brief
If your team already knows the channels, send the brief before the visit. Aspect ratios, must-have angles, brand do-nots, and where the assets will live matter more than a long creative deck. On monthly progress visits that usually means matching last month's framing so Mid still compares to Start, plus any new hero the campaign needs that month.
I will push back if the brief asks for unsafe positions or for aerials the site and conditions cannot support. That is collaboration, not obstruction.
Raw plus edited, without a production meeting
Some teams want selects they can cut themselves. Others want finished posts. I can deliver both: a Drive folder with raw and edit-ready files organised by date, plus edited stills or short cuts when that is part of the booking. Your editors keep control of voice and publishing. I keep control of what was actually possible on site that day.
This is common on standing progress work and on mixed packages that also include a one-off drone hero day or a showcase set. Say which lane each folder is for so nobody grades the same clip twice.
End to end when that is lighter
If the marketing bench is thin that month, I can run the visit end to end: plan, shoot, grade, cut and hand over publishable assets. You still approve the brief. You do not have to staff the field day.
The important part is choosing the lane before I arrive. Shoot-to-brief, raw-for-editors, and full delivery are three different days in practice. Mixing them silently is how files get lost between Slack threads.
What helps me help your team
One owner for feedback. A shared folder structure you already use. Programme dates for the next two visits, not only tomorrow. And honesty about whether this month is a quiet record or a campaign push. With that, in-house marketing and a field shooter stop tripping over each other and the site keeps feeding the channels on time.
