What Affects the Cost of Drone Photography in Sydney
"How much does drone photography cost?" is the most common question I get, and the honest answer is: it depends on more than most people expect. Here's what actually moves the number.
An open site with clear sightlines is the simplest and fastest job to shoot. A tightly built-up site, a location beside a busy road, or a job that needs multiple takeoff points because of obstructions all add planning and flight time, which shows up in the quote.
Most of metro Sydney is straightforward for standard drone operations. Sites near an airport, in controlled airspace, or close to a helicopter landing site need additional approvals and planning time before the flight is even booked, and that extra step is factored into the price.
A handful of aerial stills is the fastest and most affordable option. A full video package, multiple angles, tracking shots, a cinematic edit with colour grading and music, takes considerably longer to shoot and edit, and the price reflects that extra time.
A single one-off shoot costs differently to a series of progress visits across a long build. Ongoing work is usually more cost-effective per visit than booking each one separately, since planning and setup only happen once.
Standard turnaround is the most efficient for both of us. A rush job needed fast, ahead of a launch or a deadline, takes priority over other bookings and is quoted accordingly.
